Good afternoon,
Please forgive me for beating a dead horse with this periodically touched on topic. Simple question regarding the Cimarron 1911 repros. Are they a hobbyist tool for cowboy loads, or are they a viable option for defensive/hunting companion use?
Note: this is discounting the less desirable sights, and so on. Purely from a functional, reliable, strength measuring perspective, can they measure up to consistent reasonable use?

WHY WOULD YOU THINK OTHERWISE?

Pardon the misunderstanding. I do not recall stating the opinion that they are fake 1911s. My inquiry is based on the seemingly abundant opinion that the Italian imports are primarily designed for cowboy action loads. Being unfamiliar with the firearm, I am unsure of the longevity of such a pistol whose use is primarily based in defensive and/or hunting level loads as opposed to competition loads. That said, I am seeking input from those in the know regarding the limits of these guns.

AGAIN THEY ARE REAL 1911s AS STRONG AS ANY OTHER 1911s. CIMARRON WOULD NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS NOR WOULD HE ALLOW THEM TO BE CHEAPENED. ALL OF THEIR FIREARMS ARE MADE WITH THE BEST OF STEELS. "ABUNDANT OPINION" IS JUST THAT--OPINION.

Thank you, sir, for your input. I feel I may now proceed with a reasonable sense of clarity.

Everything I've bought from Cimarron has been top quality. Have all ideas the 1911s would be too...

Oh,,,,, that was easy Interesting that the cimarrons are ARMSCOR, ROCK ISLAND ARMORY.. I wonder how the compare to a Rock Island gun? The must just order the parts and put their Cimarron marks on them.
