Can aluminum be CCH or nitre blued?

I've got a couple of ideas kicking around in my head that would look really good with CCH or nitre blued bits on them. Can those processes only be done on steel (regular and stainless) or are other metals fair game?

AFAIK, those processes are limited to carbon steel - although some types of stainless can be colored. Aluminum can be anodized in nearly any color imaginable, though. The problem will be finding someone who offers the color(s) that you want who also has an FFL.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. What I'm thinking about aren't controlled items so no FFL needed.
