It's a little different design than a standard AK, using a sliding puck to throw the bolt carrier, similar to a Saiga-12 shotgun. The gas tube slides in from the rear similar to a Valmet/Galil design, and it has an 8 position gas regulator at the front of the gas block. As for the 475 version, I made two mags for it....one that runs standard 480 Ruger and 475 Linebaugh ammo and another that runs 475 Linebaugh Long. Starline made a few thousand Linebaugh Long cases for me. Tony Rumore Tromix

Very interesting, the standard AK bolt/carrier can be opened up and used or did you use a 12ga one? I haven't played with the AK in a while and don't remember the carrier being able to take large rims.

There is the 35 something or other by Winchester, basically a 223 neked up 35. It sould be in the ballpark of 44 Mag ME. If you are looking for a larger caliber, the 458 so com has proven difficult to cast for according to one poster over @ Cast Boolits and gave up on the endevor. I believe he was rocking a bolt gun.
Personally, I got into a Alexander Arms 50 Beowulf upper for 1/2 price. I don't think any of the ammo is in the local supply chains in bulk without mail order. Alex Arms always has 50 BW available at their factory prices. Good results have been had by others with cast boolits in this caliber but I stick with plated bull ets for plinking and jacketed for business with good results.
