I find it very uncomfortable that USFA is gone. The Double Eagle, the Flattop, the Omnipotent, Dome Blue and last but not least the .41 Short magnum............

Did they ever chamber a ".41 Short magnum"?

No, like everyone else they just talked about it. Really I think Brian Pearce wrote about it in Handloader when he was reporting on their plans.

I do too...wanted a Flat Top Target in .41 Short Mag or a Shooting Master. They said I could order a SM as soon as they got in the .41 barrel stock...they closed before that happened.
Found a .357 SM and had David Clements convert it to .41 Special..same round...different name.

The USFAs I've looked at were well put together handguns. Used to see a few at gun shows.

A dozen years ago, my son collected several of the USFAs while he was shooting SASS. I was too busy, lost in shooting S&W double actions at the time. Now, I'm always trying to talk him out of them without success. Seems like kids just grow up and get smart too quick for their parents to take advantage of them. I'm kind of a proud papa. He just got put up for Sailor of the Year. I know he loves his father; but his feelings for his USFAs go much deeper. Prescut

I've had a couple that I sure wish I still had... I wish someone would/could step up to produce production SAs of the same quality.

We can only hope they make more configurations and calibers in the future. I think the brand “name” was a poor choice for a high end firearm.

Me too! I really wanted a Bisley Flat-top .44Spl or .38-40. Along with a bunch of other stuff.

...whose machines do you think Standard is using.... Standard was only about 10 miles from the USFA building when they closed down and sold off all the machinery...
I'm just hoping one day Standard makes some of the more unique models like the Flat Top Target...

I wonder why they won't admit that? I looked on the SM website and they had two .38spl SAs listed. Bud's doesn't have them listed......

Of course, you could paint lipstick on that ring-chamber .32 of yours and trade up. Hell, your son may take pity... slide you the Hartford gun, and throw in a straight jacket. United States Fire Arms may have lost its business producing too many models. Ruger may lose the shooter, making too many guns. David Bradshaw

Yeah, skip the many models - just make lots of $495 Rodeos!

They didn't go out of business making too many models...they could sell everything they made. Owner just decided one day to close up shop... Why he didn't sell the business in tact is anyone's guess...
