I actually had a pleasant experience applying back on January 3rd when I did it for pronghorn. I was quite pleased with how easy it was.

One year I applied and thought the antelope and deer units were the same, I got drawn for both, Mule deer in the correct area and pronghorn in another unit a hundred miles away. I had a chance at a pronghorn buck but woke up late and another group got it an hour before me, I watched them cutting it up when I drove up. Oh well, I drove the rest of the way and hunted for my muley.

Think I still have about six preference points for Wyoming antelope... one of these day`s Finally found the antelope area that my brother applied for the last two years and did not draw. It’s his third year as a resident so he’s still learning the ropes. It’s handgun/ muzzle loader only. Requires a half dozen preference point to be in the game.

My buddy and I applied for archery antelope again this year. It’s not as easy to get drawn as in the past. More and more guys interested in hunting them I guess. Where we hunt, it was always 100% until about three years ago. It’s still a good chance, just not a guarantee. We will see.......
