I was wondering what the S&W model 24-3s are selling for. I wanted a 4" when they were re-introduced, but I ended up with a Lew Horton 3" instead. I was thinking at the time that because it was the first factory 3" N frame (not counting the model 27), and the first round butt N frame, that it would have a lot of collector value. I see this one on Gunbroker, and it started me to thinking.
I bought my 24-3 new, and also bought the S&W holster for it, mine is still unfired in the box. What would one like mine bring?

Not sure. I remember seeing not new in box guns go for 850 or so a few years back. I have a nice one but wouldn’t let it go for that

They are definitely over $1000. I’d say around $1200 sounds good
Wait I missed the nib part. That is a whole different story

I have seen NIB go for 1700.00. These guns have gone nuts. Mine has a few tiny marks and a spot of blue missing from the frame and I ended up with 900.00 out the door. I was glad to get it for that.

Wow! I bought a 3" 624 in 1986 or 1987 and never thought they would be worth so much. My only problem is finding the box. I know it's around here somewhere.
I haven't shot it since I got out of the AF in 1988 that I can remember. It's one of those guns I wanted when I first laid eyes on it and it still looks good on pegs inside of my handgun safe.

I bought a Horton 3" 24-3 in 2001 with a scratch on the frame for $495. It's still one of my favorites. I was given a mint 3" Horton 29-3 a few years later to go with it.
