Plastic is not immune to the ravages of time; the venerable Franzite grips on my 1949 Detective Special finally cracked. I decided to was time for the old girl to get a set of antlers, and since I stocked up on Alaskan moose last year I had a pleasant evening dressing her up. Very happy with the result; they fit my hand and look good. Itching to get her to the range again soon...

tinkerpiece..... moose will warm your hand as plastic never could. Question: does the hammer shroud on your vintage gat bite the base of your thumb? David Bradshaw

THE OLD STYLE DETECTIVE SPECIALS ARE CLASSIC LOOKING REVOLVERS, AND WITH STAG HANDLES THEY ARE EVEN CLASSIER LOOKING. EXCELLENT WORK.

Very nice Tinker, the grips look great. Not that the old DS needed a dress up but this sure did it.
