Didn't see a post about this here but it appears that Ruger has come out with a revolver to compete with the Smith 929. Built on the Super Redhawk frame.

Don't like the cylinder... would rather see titanium or some such if weight savings were the goal

SUPER GP What's up with that? May be one at the local emporium. Will look today, personally don't like the look.

Cool, a 9mm Super GP. I need a 45 acp version though. Definitely intended for competition though.

Not my thing but I am pleased to see Ruger is at least trying to branch out and try some new revolver things that arent tiny pocket wheelguns.

With that small, light cylinder. I bet DA action is fast and smooth. I'd definitely like to take one for a spin.

I plan on getting one as a USPSA revolver gun for my uses. I got the GP Match Champion in 10mm to use as a back-up gun to my S&W 646. Now,, I'll finally be able to get on a level playing field with the 8 shot S&W's out there. Well,,, at least when it comes to how many times I have to reload!

You'll have to report back because I am interested in just how it will run.
