If the OP brings it home, will need some HKS CA44 speedlloaders and a few Quick Strips. Just sayin'. A Bull Dog in my Fleece vest pocket right now.

He brought the gun in today. It’s in really good shape, but it’s a 4” model. That’s a little longer than I wanna carry.

So, a 4" Target ? Ought to be someone here that'll rescue the poor thing. If i'd not just saved a Boomer I'd be interested.

300 bucks and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I suggest buy it, shoot it, and if you still don't like it you can get your money back at least even.

Reflex the old Winchester Silvertip 44 Spl load and the CCI/Speer 200 grain Gold Dot are good candidates for carry in that little cannon. I had an original 3” bulldog that Dad admired so much I gave it to him. If that gun wasn’t on his hip it was stuck between the seat and console in his truck. He carried those 200 Gold Dots in it. Lost Dad to cancer last Feb. and got the old gun back. I’m going to carry it this turkey season in his honor. Neat little guns.

Bulldog's are the reason I miss the old Speer half jacket 225gr HP. Was just about perfect in the Bulldog, 7 grs of Unique and joy and happiness was found.

I knew the deputy that carried this gun in the 70s. It was gifted to me by a mutual friend including the Roy Baker holster he used to carry it. I need to take some good pics of it. There's just something about a well worn holster and much carried revolver that stirs the soul. Probably a lot of stories to tell. Some good, maybe a few not so good, but lots of stories.

Dad carried this one in a Galco holster built for an SP 101 Ruger that looks a lot like that Roy Baker holster.

Finding a mint, unmolested Roy Baker is as good a score as the Bulldog itself.

I had one of those in the seventies. It carried and shot well. Unfortunately, i was unable to retain custody after the divorce and it went with the ex-wife. I sure do miss that gun.
