I see one of the guys here has a Taurus Raging Hornet for sale in the Links or Lounge section... I had one I used as a base gun, for a fast twist 22 Hornet & I always thought if I got another, I'd use it as a base gun for the 270 REN... are there any 270 REN revolvers out there, or is this still the best way to get one... The Raging is a Taurus, but think it's a triple locking cylinder, & it has a long cylinder... thinking this could just have the throats reamed, & change out a barrel, & I'd end up with an 8 shot 270 REN??? anyone interested at all in the 270 REN cartridge??? press.hornady.com/assets/site/hornady/files/obsolete-data/270-ren.pdf

I have wanted one a time or two but never had the opportunity to buy a barrel and dies together. The dies typically cost as much or more than a contender barrel I don't see any reason you couldn't make it in a revolver, being a straight walled case. You might be able to put 10 in a Blackhawk cylinder.

270 REN Shooter here. Holding a TC barrel and a die set... Fine little cartridge. Easy to make cases and load for. Wonder why we didn't have it offered in a nice revolver myself. FWIW I think when they made the 32-20 legal for NRA Hunter's Pistol and the 32 Mag came to be it killed the REN.

always wanted one and if all the guns out there were single shots... an 8 shot revolver peaks my interest for something different ... & maybe the worst reason... I have a bin of light weight 270 bullets, & sold my 6.8 & 270 rifles

"Over" a 327? Never! "AND" is the proper word. Including all those short weenie bore cartidges like the 32-20, 30 Carbine, 30 Herrett, and 300 GNR...

Years back I was heading down the road of a shortened 270 REN in a Single Six. I'd had a standard REN in a T/C and liked it, despite having no use for it but plinking. My plan was having a SWC mold made then figuring out a COAL for it. In discussing it with David Clements he side tracked me with having a .22 Long Snapper reamer on hand and the short REN never happened.
