Has anybody gotten Ronnie to duplicate a Seville grip frame to put on a Blackhawk? People say they are the same, but there are differences and the Seville is much more comfortable for me than a regular dragoon gripframe. Well Flexjr, I have about a dozen more dreamed up and ready to make. Just havent added them to the sight yet. Just building all the new equipment to complete the hammer and trigger lineup as well as a machine that will allow me to do the rebore and rifling of current barrels. I have been a busy little beaver. Most of the stuff we need in the single action world has been done to a degree but it was done with equipment that had a different purpose. The Barrel machine is strictly for 12 inches and under and it will re ream the bore and then i can re rifle it to anything so far from 1 in 6 to 1 in 30 twist. Then change directions and polish the bore and rifling all on the same machine. Cylinders are almost ready to put on line but this hammer endeavor has been a doozie. Looking real good though! A couple of Martin XRH Hybrids are in route to Mr Lee for his finall approval and the Seville is actually ready to add to the sight. The Martin Hybrid is a combo of design from the Dealer, the XR3 RED plus.300, the bill grover rounded trigger guard and the BFR Biznana top strap profile. It is Super cool. We have one Called the Wrenegade that is showing major promise. All great ideas so far. Thanks guys. There is a subtle difference between the Super Blackie and the Seville. Not only the profile but especially the trigger guard. So alot of testing and cutting had to be done to make sure the trigger and lock work on the Ruger could be used with the Seville geometry. WE GOT IT! And it works great. The Seville grip is layed forward 2.6 degrees compared to the SBH. Here is an Overlay of the two so that you can see the difference bud. Hope this helps! The super blackhawk hunter is in Red. Seville in Black,. Notice the trigger guard and that the Seville has a different angle at the bottom and subtle differences on the Backstrap. The front strap is a smidge further forward on The Seville due to the angle difference. However this one is precisely designed around the Ruger Blackie Lock work. Im mounting one on a Super soon and i will post a pic when im done. 7 days a week just aint enough. need more hours in the day but man oh man is this s... so much FUN! R

Ronnie, can you share any updates on how far you are from being able to offer steel grip frames for the BFR? Something like the BB5 but for medium hands would be great.

Yes Sir! Thank you much for tooling up for this! Are we going to see full custom revolvers by Ronnie Wells? That would be exciting! I have a Ruger Security Six as a donor ready to go!

I'm waiting for the stainless maxi frames. I can see a 45 Ronnie Stoopid 10" in the future.

Ronnie just sent me two Martin XRH grip frames (the "H" stands for "Hybrid"). After receiving them, the XR3 +300 quickly became my second favorite design. This one feels even better. And according to Ronnie, it soaks up recoil beautifully. My initial impression is it'll handle the big stuff every bit as good as the Bisley variants. I'll let Ronnie talk specifics, but the Martin XRH came about by chance. I told him it was a coin flip between the XR3 +300 and the Dealer. He countered with, why not combine the two? In doing do, he also enlarged the trigger guard. Another nice touch is the radiused transition between the back strap and frame humps. This one is going on a .414 Martin Razorback. I'll use a standard Blackhawk trigger and Super Blackhawk hammer. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Ronnie is a genius when it comes to making our ideas into real world working frames. Not only are our tastes different, each of us here has different hand sizes and shapes. We each handle recoil differently. While I may find the 500 Linebaugh perfectly manageable, another shooter may struggle with the 44 magnum. Ronnie makes it where we can all find comfort with the heavier loads in our own way.

Is that new frame cut from aluminum alloy?

I have a 6.5" SBH Bisley in .480 and my middle knuckle gets tagged with every shot, this makes the gun unpleasant to shoot. I wear a 2xl glove(long fingers). I'm thinking of trying a brass grip frame. Which model would solve my problem? Eddie

I'm thinking of trying a brass grip frame. Which model would solve my problem? Eddie The biznana or if you like the traditional Bisley look, the Hager BB5. Both are perfectly designed around larger hands and really tame big recoil. There's plenty of knuckle room, plus the frame shape and angles redirect the recoil impulses and timing to add extra protection for big hands, while taking the snap out of the wrist, lengthening the impulse time to transfer the kick into the forearm muscles. They make the 480 feel like a 41 mag. I shoot a BB5 on a five shot 45Colt loaded to 454 pressure. It's less punishing than the hunter grip was only loaded to 30,000psi.

The Biznanna and the Hager BB5 are both great frames for recoil reduction, However there are many more options available , each with there very own look and feel as well as style format. There is NO LAST WORD! Only what will work best for you. Give me a hollar and i will put you thru a series of questions, then explain the advantages or pros as well as the cons of each design.
