Zane... is that the dark set that you offered when I chose the Alaskan Dall grips... if so, those lightened up a lot... they look great... if they lightened up that much, I'll have to remember that when picking grip blanks next time... Congrats Trapr... very nice looking revolver & grips no Sir, this set was started before I ever showed you the blanks.

cool... thanks... do you find that most of the time the colors are pretty representative of the outside of the scale, or are there often other layers of color, or white in the middle of the scale, that gets exposed during contouring???

For those curious about my little rear sight, I’ve sent bushog the details and pics. He should post the particulars here shortly, I am happy to answer any questions. I just still struggle to post Images.

I picked up the gun Tuesday and they feel great, and look even better in person. Zane has done a wonderful job on them.

For those curious about my little rear sight, I’ve sent bushog the details and pics. He should post the particulars here shortly, I am happy to answer any questions. I just still struggle to post Images. Trapr The sight itself is from XS sights, it is intended for use as a shotgun rib sight. It is the highest model they make, I then filed the shallow “V” into a square notch. The highest model was chosen for two reasons, first it is the only one with a vertical side, all the others are angled on both sides front and back. Second it allows for filing down in height to place a flat edge across the top. A .25” dovetail with 60* angles was filed into the topstrap, .075 deep. It makes for a very good sight picture and a very robust sight. The front was replaced as well, a Ruger basic front ramp was filed to accept a standard 3/8” dovetail front sight. This allowed for a wide choice of sights to be used, fiber optic, steel partridge type, etc. It also allows for a wide variety of heights so that tuning to your chosen load would be easy. Sorry it took so long... I didn't realize I was supposed to post this.

Not sure how I missed this thread. Those grips speak to you. They'd make my wife jealous.. Am now curious to see what the Musk Ox will look like. Think I'd be tempted to tell my friends they were Sasquatch toe nails..

Did the rear sight have tritium dots?

Think I'd be tempted to tell my friends they were Sasquatch toe nails.. Here are some Musk Ox our friend Roy did for me. I quoted this so I can find this revolver again. The grips are really worth looking at again and again, but the revolver they are on is just about perfect to me. There was a lot of nice stuff done to it. Would you mind describing what exactly was done. I'm a stainless kind of guy (I prefer vanilla ice cream too), but slowly I'm starting to want a cch bad!
