Being a fan of cross draw holsters, my first from Doc Barranti was a Longhorn Companion which arrived last fall: Having enjoyed that considerably, I finally decided to give his Northwest Mountain Companion a try. Both are comfortable and easy to wear, but feel quite different from one another. Will need to take these out to the range and compare them back to back with different sixguns!

Take each out for a day walking in the woods and the decision will be easier.

I’m not much for black on a nonduty holster, but yours with the black handled FA looks nice!!!

I'll have to get a nice picture outside, those grips are evergreen and the black compliments them very well. Better picture of the grips:

All really nice!
I bet that front sight likes the way that black leather tastes?

They look great! Barranti leather is like eating potato chips - you can't stop at 1,2,3,4,5...
He sets the standard by which you will judge other vendors.

All really nice! I bet that front sight likes the way that black leather tastes? ***** bushog.... that scrotum hook is the silhouette front sight. arokcrwlr.... and, yes, that scrotum hook would eat holsters like potato chips. Called it a scrotum hook when the M-83 silhouette model was introduced in 1986 or ’87, so I’ll call it that now. Indeed, it would take a deep sight track in hope of protecting the scabbard. Silhouette shooters hadn’t often tucked a long sixgun in their pants, and for hunting often installed a scope and removed the blade. Irons remained and continue a popular sight afield. Fortunately, FA offers a variety of sights & heights. David Bradshaw

I used to futz a little with holsters ( not trying to compare myself to Barranti ) wondering if some sort of plastic track couldn't be attached to the inside of the holster for those type of sights???
