Oh, both Lee Precision and Starline Brass had real people that answered one the first ring. They were easy to understand. English was their first language.

Does anyone here, of the top of your head, know the name of the those loading manuals that are per caliber. One booklet per cartridge ? I should still have some of those books, I can look when I get home. Is this basically a rimless .357 Max?

Beware that some have crimped primer pockets... Seems to be driven by bullet weight. Exactly which way I don't remember.

I read one article that the author resized 358 bullets to fit....jacketed bullets. I think maybe sizing wax might be needed.

To introduce a new cartridge, it seems, another cartridge must be put down. As opposed to stating what the new cartridge is for. While it is impossible to develop a new self-contained cartridge devoid of historical context, it takes a dose of bullroar, i.e. exaggeration, to promote it as great for qualities it lacks.
Motives for a cartridge * To perform a task: target, defense, hunting.. * To fit a firearm. * To compete with (challenge) a rival. * Ego, vanity.
The other, more organic way to go about it: design firearm around cartridge. Examples include----certainly not limited too----various Mausers, Georg Luger’s P-08, John Browning’s machine guns, the Auto-5 shotgun, pistol models 1903, 1911, Hi-Power, Springfield M-1903, Thompson Submachine Gun Model 1921, Garand M1.... The list is extensive and probably includes the Winchester Model 1873 and Colt 1873 Single Action Army. GUNS DESIGNED AROUND A CARTRIDGE.
Jerry Moran, maestro of the Colt Python, IHMSA All-American, knows at bit about the .350 Winchester Legend. He got together with Wes Ugalde at the IHMSA 1978 International Championships in Salina, Kansas to discuss a more potent .357. “Wes Ugalde was trying everything with the .223 case,” says Moran. After discussing a marriage of .357 to .223 case with Wes Ugalde, Moran made up a .357/.223x1.5-inch. As for trying to assign a birthplace of the .350 Legend, “There are too many people out there who have taken a .223 case and put a .357 bullet in it.” Forebears, of course, must include Browning’s recoil operated semiautomatic Model 1907 .351 Winchester, also remarked on Singleactions. The .351 Win takes a .352 bullet. “Take a look, also,” says Moran, “at Phil Sharpe’s Complete Guide to Handloading, published in 1931.”
The yet-to-be-introduced .350 Legend came up when Jerry Moran spoke with Steve Hornady about reintroducing the .357 Maximum. The ammunition manufacturer was more interested in a round to fit the AR-15.
When asked for his take on the Legend’s .355” bullet diameter, Jerry sees a marketing ploy to sell factory ammunition. Add to it “Slight body taper, ostensibly to ease extraction, while accommodating a .355 bullet," and a “slightly rebated rim----nothing like the .284 Winchester----all of this the create a proprietary round and sell ammunition.” David Bradshaw

The market niche, recently legal in several upper mid-west states for big game and AR friendly. A hog gun for those states. A good youth cartridge too.

I think what you mean are the "Complete Reloading Manual for the XXXX, One Book,One Caliber" available at Amazon and other places.
The new 2020 edition of the Hodgdon Annual Manual has an article on the 350 Legend cartridge; not just loading data but an article describing its development.

I checked LoadData dot com and they had no load info for the 350. Disappointing because I thought they stayed on top of these things.

Thanks guys. Fell ill, and behind on finishing the fire lapping of the 480's. So haven;t started on the 350 yet. The Winchester factory loads do look crimped, gotta figure out how to rescue. Have 250 Starline cases here anyway. First loads likely will be 147gr 9mm bullets. Actually wouldn't be a bad choice for thru the lungs deer shooting. Wondering about the 357, 180gr XTP too.. Have some of those here anyway.
