With too many does on our farm, taking a few off is a necessity. This doe was taken from 125 yards with the FA Model 83 in .41 Mag. using Dick's 210 gr. powder coated bullets. These bullets shoot extremely well and perform well on game. We have an alternative method season coming in late Dec. and a few more does need to be removed - with the 41 and sixshot's lead.

I have another of those scopes in the safe and the exact same FA 10' barrel gun with the octagon barrel to isntall it on. I just haven't taken the time to put them together yet! I want to get the scope on and see how much thummb clearance there is for cockiing the hammer. If it is tighter than I want I will have the bisley hammer off the 5 1/2" FA swapped onto the long barrel gun.

I believe you will find there is enough clearance to cock the hammer without too much trouble. It may be a little tight but easily doable.

Not to barge in unannounced so to speak, but I have one on a 83 in a Lovell also, and it doesn't create any problems for me either.
