I got a very early production “B” model over the weekend. I really didn’t know much about the inception of the firing pin block (B) model when I bought this pistol. But, what I’ve learned about it is very unexpected. According to information on the CZ forum, the lowest known “B” model serial number was “N7xxx.” Here are particulars of my pistol: - SN N2xxx - Deep blue finish - Transitional roll stamps - No import marks Anyway, for me this is part of the fun... you never know what you’ll find on the used market. I’ve wanted a CZ-75 variant for a while, now. I just never anticipated my dumb luck! -Bill

Yours is extremely nice... I have 3-4 vintage CZ-75 “B’s” butt none that old, to where they are blued... FIL was Czech one still NIB from the early 80's I thought about selling, but I like them enough, I decided to keep it... This little CZ-75 Compact is one of my favorites... These are the 3 I shoot... Bottom gun drilled & tapped for the dot scope mount, & has a slide pull knob added... rubber grips help for hot sweaty range work... a really fun range gun plus still have one new unfired in the box, same vintage as the top one in the group picture...

You’ve got big jump on me, for sure! Very nice pistols.
This is my first CZ, although I’ve shot my buddy’s at the range. He’s got a sweet Tactical Sport “Orange” that makes me look like an expert shooter. It’s beyond my budget, but eventually I hope to get one of the higher end models.

I HAD an Armalite AR-24 which was essentially a CZ75. I no longer have the gun, once purchased new. I don't want to talk about it anymore.

I’m pleased to report that as of 11/22, the moderator of the “Original CZ Forum” has updated the “sticky” regarding this model to reflect this example as the “earliest seen” in CZ 75 B production. czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=104110.0What began as a stroll over to a nearby sporting goods store while new tires were being put on my car, turned into a very happy find, for me. Looking to kill some time, I saw it as an opportunity to peruse the used gun section. So, what’s the old adage about “a blind pig?” That would be me, running on plain dumb luck. 😆 -Bill

I'm a revolver shooter by nature, CZs are the only autos I've taken a shining towards. That's a very nice specimen you stumbled across.

...That's a very nice specimen you stumbled across. Thank you! “Stumbled across” is an apt way to say it, alaskan454. I sure didn’t expect to see an early 75 B in a sporting goods store, much less one with the aforementioned features. Btw, I discovered the sights are painted with luminescent paint, as was not uncommon in those years. -Bill

I love my 75B. I've had it close to 15 years. A gunsmith buddy did a great action job on it with the factory parts when I first got it. I recently put in a short reach trigger and disconnector, and replaced the old Trijicon sights that had gone dark. The trigger pull with the Cajun Gun Works upgrade is very similar to a SIG DAK trigger in double action, now, but it is a bit heavier than it was before. I polished some of the internals to 1000 grit, which previously had huge tooling marks; now that there is more surface contact, it could be causing drag and increasing the pull weight. I will be dressing all of the contact points further and adding moly grease. I plan to make a new, tight-fit barrel bushing, as well, and likely upgrade to a bar stock hammer and new sear. I was shocked at how chewed up the hammer was from normal use over the years. They must not have had their heat treating down at the time. It is one of my favorite pistols and a lot of fun to tinker with.
