Nvcaller, I think the issue most folks have with the ELDX is high impact velocities, that bullet is designed for long range, so beyond 400 yards. Far too many folks use it and take animals at “normal” hunting distances and the bullet comes apart. I took a big muley buck at 75 one year when I was prepared for 400+, same thing, bullet came apart but it exited. A 230gr 338 bullet just kinda does that.

Pictures have to be downloaded to a third party site such as Imgur or photobucket. Once there the image can be copied pasted here. Personally I use Imgur since photobucket began taking folks hostage last year with unrealistic charges.

Great elk and write up. I just purchased a Grendel to throw into the truck for coyotes and such, probably the right caliber for that. No elk in my future.
