I’m about to buy a lefty R8. Any experience in this group with this gun? Probably in 9.3x62 or 30-06/280. Thanks

Second hand experience thru friends that have used it,......nothing bad. I believe it (Blaser) originated the fast action short throw bolt design that is very popular now overseas.

BUY IT!!!!!! SERIOUSLY! (get one with the removable fire control (trigger)) This is the LH stock a friend of mine helped me get last night. He works for Blaser at the big shows like DSC.

I personally would get barrels in 9.6x32 and .300 Win. to start.
I need some more friends...
Join BlaserBuds and get a carbon fiber stock from Arrowgun.
I've got one for my R93 with the black receiver and they are SLICK!

I've been on Blaserbuds for years, just a watcher. Now its paying off. I'm not a big fan of the 300 mags so 9.3x62 and a mid caliber something 6.5CM, 6mm Rem, 7-08, 257 roberts etc

I’d vote for 280, 7x64, 30-06, 270, etc. then you’re set for general purpose and a thumper.

5 (including me) in our hunting club use R93 in 7x64 (almost identical to .280) and one has it in .308 Win. Zero problems, very accurate, compact, ergonomic rifle that is my most used rifle. Before I had a custom bolt action with stock made for me but after handling Blaser R93 for the first time (and hitting perfect X with 1st shoot) I immediately bought R93 in 2008.

I have a 280 coming and I'm still looking for a 9.3 barrel. I'm liking this Blaser modular gun thing.

I have to admit I was skeptical 15 years ago when my "problem" with Blasers started but they produce some of the best handling and accurate rifles made. Profoundly reliable... Now, they're not cheap but with the interchangeable barrels they fall into line with other premium prices quickly.
