I'm in the process or really cutting back on my collections... This rack... pared down to just 5... keeping the 17 Fireball, 243, 308, 30-06, & the 338 Win Mag This rack of CZ's will pare down to just the 7.62 X 39 bolt action carbine my Milsurp rack will pare down to just the 30 carbine I'll be keeping most all of my Rolling blocks & Martini lever actions, which are mostly in older calibers like 32-40, 40-65, 50-70 for example

This is one of my favorite Single shots... 40-65 Navy Arms Rolling Block a Couple Martini's... Top Custom hex barrel, 3 leaf sights in 45-70... lower one was originally found in a Cache of guns in the river outside of Northfield MN... suspected possibly placed there by the James Gang... was originally chambered in 50 caliber, but the wood, springs, & barrel replaced... now shoots 50-70... was it placed there by the James Gang??? your guess is as good as my imagination

I need to get a Win 94 in 32 special. Can't even see a pop can at 70 yds LOL. .32 SPECIALS ARE HARD TO FIND; GLASSES COME EASY. My first center-fire rifle was a Win. 1894 .32 Special, 26 inch barrel, 1/2 magazine (or "button" mag), crescent steel butt plate, Lyman #5 folding front sight ("globe"/post), manufactured in 1908. It came to me when my father-in-law died, and the mother-in-law didn't want it in her house. I found it interesting that she was comfortable with it in her daughter's house! Anyway, FIL had received it as a teen from his father, the original owner, and HE was still alive when I got it. So GFIL said he bought it new from a hardware store in VT where he was working at the time. The first time I shot it was in summer, and I was wearing a t-shirt. I never did that again. I've got a .338 Win Mag that's more fun. Otherwise, it's a very nice rifle, and it has much meaning to me. My daughter wants it when the time comes.

My first “deer” rifle was a Marlin 32WS, it shot ok, about 6” at 100 with the factory irons and a 14yo boy pulling the trigger. It rarely got used once I got a Sav.99. But it is now my 50Alaskan, and it still holds the memory of being my first big game rifle.

My "newest" rifle to me is a Winchester model 54 that was made in 1926. In 1927 it had a custom barrel installed by A.O. Niedner of Dowagiac, MI. The inside of the barrel looks just as good as any of my custom rifles that have Krieger, Broughton, Hart or Rock Creek barrels. I believe it is in 30-06, but I have to get it chamber cast first to be safe. I really enjoy just holding the rifle & thinking about the adventures it went on during its lifetime. If it is in 30-06 (or any caliber that I can load for) I plan to hunt with it. It would be so cool to take a deer with it.
