Congratulations a couple of fine trophies! Hope to get one in the near future as soon as I can get things wrapped up here on the home front.

Good for you Russ, what gun will you take? My "bucket list" animal was always a Black Buck antelope.

Anyone interested in some reasonable free range exotics should look in the Sonora Texas area. Burgeoning populations of Axis and plentiful blackbuck make meat and/or trophy hunting affordable. You can kill 3-4, maybe 5 exotics , and some pigs for what one high fence whitetail will cost. It’s great fun and no cold weather worries.

Curtis.... all around a fine performance.Horns have a way of giving a trigger finger the jitters. Quite obvious you focussed on bullet placement and kept a cool finger on the trigger.
How about a description of your revolver? Appears in photo to start as a Ruger Blackhawk Maximum, fitter with a SBH Hunter barrel or a barrel machined to copy the Hunter rib. And a Bisley grip. The topstrap of a standard SBH is either radiused or beveled where it meets the barrel, whereas the Hunter topstrap has a nearly square corner. Did Harton build up the radius on the Maximum topstrap? What is the twist? Also, Super Mag shooters would be interested in your load.
Congratulations and thank you, David Bradshaw

David , Alan did weld up the front of the of the top strap to match the Hunter barrel. I assume it was a factory 41 mag hunter barrel. I didn’t build this, I bought it. I will post pics tomorrow compared to my factory 357 max. The load I used was a Winchester large rifle primer igniting 26 gr of AA1680 under a 265 gr WFN GC bullet. It is a fine hunting revolver.

Here is a picture of my 357 max top strap compared to the welded up and contoured Harton 414SM.

Curtis and Greg.... beautiful job by Alan Harton. Thank you both for the follow-up. I should hope details matter in this crowd, as preparation is a mother. David Bradshaw
