I am working outside Lake Charles, LA building an LNG plant. I am a Pipefitter. It is hard work. It is 95° +/- and 95-100% humidity every day. And we are required to wear boots, long sleeved shirts and long pants in addition to a safety vest and sfety harness. Since February I have more than once become nauseous. I have had to hide it as once they send you to the clinic. Multiple times ... you are probably going to hit the road. I have learned from previous experience copious amounts of water is not enough. I am also drinking 1 or 2 large Gatorades a day and 1/2 bottle of Pedialyte at home at night. I have gotten better. There is no getting used to it. Summer JUST started. It will be getting worse and will be till October. All you can do is tolerate it, listen to your body, drink drink drink and take cool down breaks as needed when YOU think you need them - not the Foreman. Going home at the end of the day soaking wet with sweat is now the norm. The good news is I have not been doing this my whole life so I am not physically broken down like so many older guys out here. I am limber, strong enough and blessed to be able to do it. The heat I experienced was a "dry" heat. I do not like humidity at all. One day I felt like some type of internal switch had been thrown & I could no longer tolerate the heat like previously. I moved after that. I still can't take the heat like I used to. Prefer the cold weather now.

Ya, Markbo be careful ! Hopefully you are getting well paid for your work. Hope your in the Fitters union so that your building a retirement and benefits. I was in the Laborers up here for about 4 years total work time or less. I retired from it when I was 58 and my retirement is around 5 grand a year. Nothing to brag about I know. But, that's 5 k a year for the rest of my life and the rest of my wife's if she out lives me. And I can pay my dues and go back to work once I get my house built. And that will add to my retirement. If you get tired of the heat. There is pipeline work up here. I got an early start on work today and came home @ 1 o'clock.
