I’ve got a S&W Model 63 no dash that needs help in the grip department. The standard J Frame grip is simply too small to work well with my hands. It currently wears a set of Herrett Shooting Stars which help but still don’t get me the feel and grip I’d prefer.
I’ve been considering a T-Grip for a while but delivery issues have always kept me away. Are they actually holding to the 3-4 week lead time on the website or is it still “you’ll get them if/when they eventually show up”?
The only other option I’m considering is trying to find a 4.2” .22 GP100 (Model 1766?) to trade into. I know and prefer the feel of a stock GP grip to a stock J Frame but that’s a last resort kind of plan.

Just got one for another S&W j frame took about 4 weeks. I use rubber bands around the grip for a better hold on the j frames.

The little J frames do leave something to be desired for man paws. Plus most of the after markets are too huge and dwarf the guns. The Tylers were close but still did not get it right. I found the answer in reshaping wood aftermarkets to something in the middle. Exposing the backstrap (on a sq. butt)and just barely covering the bottom of the grip. Then reshaping the front to fill the space and get the finger lowered properly. Substantial thinning and a touch of coke bottle make it point like the finger of God. Please ignore the trail worn finish , this little Mod. 51 has quite a life. My little 63 is a round butt and even with the Tylers STILL feels like trying to point a Derringer. Doesn't work well and I cannot shoot the gun well.

I agree with mk70ss, go with bk. The folks at Tyler are the worst I have ever dealt with. Waited 3 months, still no grip adaptors. Asked for a refund and the guy got mad and “banned” me!

Thanks for the feedback so far. I was wondering if the T-Grip would be enough of a difference. I know they do on the larger frames but there's also more grip girth to help fill the hand that the J lacks. needsmostuff, nothing wrong with either of those! What stocks did you start with to get the end product on that 51? rjm, I hadn't considered the target stocks. I might just give those a shot (no pun intended), thanks! Selling/trading is way down the list of possibilities but if the choices come down to being able to shoot it well or looking at it in the safe saying "My my ain't that pretty!" I'll have to consider it but there would be very strict requirements for a deal to happen. Here's the 63 in question:

I have a 63 with a BK adaptor and it fits my medium size hand great.

I have a BK and it is just as good quality as a Tgrip. However, I think the T grips look better.

awp...I had that same grip...good but I like the Smith Target grip better... But I'm not sure if it is any "larger" than the Herretts....
Have you tried a S&W 18? One of the best balanced .22 revolvers ever made...

No, I've never had the desire and funds line up at the same time for a 17 or 18. I ran across the BK offering when I started looking for other options. I like the idea and if this were a blued revolver they might grab me more but on a stainless revolver neither color option really appeals to me. Yeah, probably a petty reason to not consider them but it is what it is.

I have dealt with Tyler in the past. If you go in knowing it will be a loooooong wait, then get them. They are good stuff and the best looking of the adapters.
