This is my .40 Horvath midframe. I also have the makings for a Smith barreled 5 shot 41 mag midframe Bisley, but I just haven't taken the time to ship it to John Powers. The Ruger mid frame is a very nice well made platform in any configuration.

I'm so tickled with mine that I had to have a special holster just for it. Need to dress it up with some nice grips as well. It has been one of the easiest guns for me to shoot well. With 5 grains of Bullseye and a 255 grain 429421 or 17 grains of 2400 with the same bullet it shoots wonderful little clusters. There are a lot of revolvers that I could part with, but I'll not part with the Bisley Flattop 44 Special. Very nice Holster. Well done.

bushog, that made up into a dandy 45 Colt, very nice looking gun. Hope you whack something with it, & I'm sure you will.

I have both the .44 and the 45 convertible Flattops. I lean more towards the 45 as my favorite of the 2. Well, they are mine! lol But Grashorn made them. Nice! Who’s grips?

As others have said, Ruger, through Lipsey's, has done a superb job with these Flat Tops. This is a stainless .44 Special, with a Gordon Logan front sight and grip panels by Gary Reeder: This is the limited edition made for the Shootists 25th Anniversary, but wearing replacement grip panels, and an undercut front sight by David Clements: A stainless .45 Convertible, my most accurate Flat Top, when using the ACP cylinder. It also wears a front sight by Gordon Logan: My last one is a ..357 / 9mm Convertible. It now wears a Clements front sight, and a set of elk antler grips by Patrick Grashorn: I don't believe a person can go very far wrong with any of the N.M. Flat Tops.

I've a 5.5" blued plow handle and a polished SS Vaq Sheriff 44 Spec's.. Well, the Vaq Sheriff is not a flat top, but a 44spec mid-frame anyway. Have been kinda surprised at how less than popular {by lack of mention) that particular version has been here.

Picked up mine today. This thing is in amazing shape. It's one of the 2009 runs.

I recently took one in trade on a USFA. The previous owner had already already upgraded with crescent ER, Powers bisley spurred hammer and trigger for the regular frame and ivories by Paul Persinger. I sent it home with Ben Forkin and he’s going to make an ovate barrel for the gun.
