ON THOSE WONDERFUL S&W 22lr's, DO YOU STILL HAVE TO BRUSH THE POWDER PARTICLES OUT FROM UNDER THE EXTRACTOR STAR EVERY COUPLE OF CYLINDER FULLS IN ORDER TO KEEP THEM FUNCTIONING? WHEN I SHOOT A S&W OR COLT DA RF REVOLVER I ALWAYS KEEP A TOOTH BRUSH CLOSE BY. DON'T GET ME WRONG, THE S&W AND COLT DA RF 22's ARE NICE GUNS BUT THEY CAN BE A PAIN IN THE REAR. I havent seen that issue with mine Me neither.

Never seen a full lug M17 with a 4" barrel. A couple 17-6s with 6" tubes sold last week... They were out there at one time. Beautiful guns. This is not my image, found it in a Google search, but the full lug 4" M17 is to pretty not to have a pic up in this thread.

LEFTYSIXGUN: I GOOGLED THE SUBJECT OF UNBURNT POWDER UNDER THE EXTRACTOR STAR. THE RECOMMENDATION IS TO POINT THE MUZZLE UP WHEN EXTRACTING TO LESSEN THE POSSIBILITY OF POWDER GETTING UNDER THE EXTRACTOR (I DID NOT KNOW THAT), WILL TRY THAT NEXT TIME I TAKE A DA 22 TO THE RANGE, BUT I WILL STILL HAVE A TOOTHBRUSH HANDY. Makes sense, I may be doing that automatically and not realizing it. That muscle memory would be from the competition days years ago, lol Very well could be an ammunition thing too. 22lr can be nasty depending on gun and brand combo
