231 is good powder and I used a lot of it in 45 colt and ACP, I've not tried it in the 480. My current range load is 10 grains of unique with the 385-400 grain 477640 bullet.
For a hunting load I use the same bullet with 14.3 grains of HS6.
I can't wait to get the light version of the 477640 from the recent group buy.

I'm using the groove closest to the nose. Is that considered the 1st groove? I think I could use either in the the Ruger SBH.

For myself and my note book I call them short crimp groove or long crimp groove. I’ve been crimping in the second or longer OAL crimp groove. Last night I loaded up the same powder charge but crimped in the first (close to the nose), Im hoping to see a slight jump in velocity.
