Hey all, back in 1995 a friend of mine let me shoot his 45 Colt Derringer. Since then it's been an off and on urge to have one. The urge is back. While drooling over the Thunderer and Lightning on Cimarron's site I saw their 32 and 38 combo derringers. I really like the looks of them.
So, tell me about yours!
Thanks, Sean

I had a bond arms in 44 magnum. I can tell you that it was a handful with full house 44 loads. It made one heck of a fireball with those loads

I also have a American Derringer .45Colt/.410 My Dad commandeered it, he packs it every day in the warm months on the ranch, it's his rattlesnake medicine ;D I did a little file work on the hammer, ejector button and loading button, also took off the sharp edges and took a Maroon 3M pad to it.

I have an old Davis Arms in 38spcl...Many years ago I managed a Security Service. Many of the accounts were armed. For quite awhile, despite Ohio's laws it was a back up to my Model 64. I pull it out now and again and shoot it. Just last weekend I let the boys shoot it. Got the oldest looking up Derringers on Wikipedia when he got home.
I dont think in the 16 years or so that I have had it I have put more than a couple of hundrd rounds through it. Never a Plus+ since alot of it was made of castings. I never had any troubles keeping both shots center mass, or at least where it would have given someone enough to say "Time to call it a day"..
Viable or not..I won't say or argue..
Neat and fun...Yep!
Better than Nothing....Definetley!

I guess this was more what you're seeking... I like mine. Replaced the grips with fake ivory, and may not be done yet: pearl has always appealed to me on hideout guns. As you can see, OOO buck at contact distance is effective as all get out. Birdshot would bloody your attacker, possibly blind him and probably annoy him. heres how she looked wearing her original slippers: While the AmDer is great for the car, my usual always popgun is my NAA derringer: Its lighter, has tritiums and holds 3 more shots.

I remember when I brought mine home from the Gunshop...My Mom said all I needed was a Black hat, and a Deck of cards and I could change my name to Maverick...
