Sony, I know exactly what you mean. Rubber grips on a N frame will peel the hide off the base of my thumb after a lot of shooting. The 329pd did it after about 25 rounds of light 44 mags with the boot grips in the photos. My view is the 329pd is a 44 sp that can shoot 44 mags. Heck, I thought I was a wimp till some of you guys with the big guns posted about how bad the recoil was. I got a XS Sights standard tritium dot and put on it. I like it a lot better then the red fiber optic that was on it. In low light the front sight disappeared. I can see the SX sight in day or night. I also put a little white pain on the rear sight to add a little contrast. I’m back from a weekend of working on the ranch. Two days of hopping in and out of feed trucks opening and closing gates. Toting 50 pound feed sacks filling feeders. Chopping ice. At the end of it I sure was glad to have that 26 oz. 44 sp. On the ranch I’ve carried all kinds of steel guns and tried some plastic ones but for me the 329pd has turned out to be my Perfect Packing Pistol.

I never shot a 329 PD before but I owened a 325 PD for about 3yrs. and put about 2000 standard pressure loads and 500 Texas Ammo Tactical loads thru it without any other matenance that any other revolver would have taken. Just normal cleaning and lube. I changed my front sight to a partage and my rear sight to a Extreme Duty also changed the grips to Presentations. About a year later S&W did the same and called it a Nighthawk.
