Was in a shop a couple of weeks ago that is down the street from the Ruger plant in Newport, NH. They get a lot of Ruger demo gun... They had a LNIB GP-100 4" stainless in .327 Federal and it had a very smooth DA and as decent as it gets for a Ruger SA... Thought about it for a few days and ended up putting the gun on hold...and picked it up two days ago when I was over that way.
Got to shoot the gun yesterday but the weather wasn't the greatest as the wind was blowing 20 mph...so I just shot at some steel targets 20 yards out... Sights only needed a little right windage...hopefully will be fine tuned this afternoon as it is supposed to be very nice out.
Load was a Accurate Molds 31-120S with AAC-7 powder for 1400 fps from a 6.5" FA97. Ran about 35 rounds through the gun all DA. Had one light primer strike but am using Small Rifle primers in the loads so that sometimes happens. This load is for the FA97 and has never been a problem.
I have three GP-100s, two standard full underlug barrels and one 10mm that has the half underlug, and much prefer the full underlug barrels balance. The DA pull on all three guns is excellent and very controllable. Sights on all three have a white outline rear, with a square shoulder green FO front on the .357 and 10mm and plain serrated black ramp on the .327. Will probably put the same green FO front sight on the .327as well...
Recoil is minimal even with the 120 grain loads...
This brings to six the number of .327s I now have...a great shooting round...

The GP-100 comes with a set of rubber Hogue fingergroove grips...they are ok but I like the original Ruger rubber grips with the inserts better. Found a set for cheap money and put them on...will head for the range after lunch..

Love the 32 calibers also. Don't shoot much full blown 327, I like the hot 32 HR mag and low 327 power range. Think it would make a good SHTF caliber. Has enough power, and easy to get a lot of penetration. Still small enough where you can carry quite a bit of lead without weighting you down to bad. Used my rifle as a calling rifle last year. Liked the caliber, not so much the rifle. wish I could find an affordable Marlin in 32 H&R mag.

I CALLED THE MARLIN FACTORY YEARS AGO AFTER THEY DROPPED THE .32 MAGNUM AND THEY FOUND ME ONE WITH EXCELLENT WOOD BACK IN THE CORNER. HAD MY ORIGINAL ONE CONVERTED TO .327. I HAVE EVEN MORE .32 MAGNUMS THAN .327s. THEN THERE ARE THE .32 LONGS AND .32 SHORTS AND THE .32-20S...SOMEDAY MY SMALL BORE BOOK WILL BE PUBLISHED. SOMEDAY. AFTER THE .45 BOOK AND THE DOUBLE ACTION SIXGUNS BOOK AND THEN THE NEW EDITION OF THE .44 BOOK AND .......

Put several more cylinders through the gun yesterday afternoon. The new grips are much preferred to the fingergroove...
DA unsupported standing at 20 yards was in the 2.5-3"" range....could do just a hair better with the JRH 6" converted Model 53. Had a few more misfires DA with the GP but all went on the second time around...
So far very pleased with the gun...
Bob
ps...I wish Marlin would make the straight stocked 2/3s magazine rifle that they made back in the 1980s in .25-20 and .32-20 i .327. The friend who I shot with yesterday is big into .32 and has one of each of them...and they are sweet...

I ended up with a steel Henry 327 rifle. Still working some bugs out but I think it will be a good gun. So far ,not much luck with cast but jacketed shoots fine. But it sure feels bigger and heavier than a Marlin 1894 !!!!
As Henry is expanding their single shot line I've been hoping to see a .327 done that way.

I think the .327 is a real winner. You guys made me count, I am holding at 10 revolvers in that chambering right now and have my eye on another. Such a fun round to load and shoot. And quite accurate as well.
Lots of fun for sure.

I really want one of those 5" GPs but I can't talk myself into prying open the wallet for one. Yet...

My half-lug blued GP100 in .327 is my favorite in that caliber. I also have the 5.5" Single Seven and 8-shot Blackhawk, and each has its purpose, but that GP is sweet.
