Contender, The length was 10 ft., 1 inch. Didn't have the means to weigh him. Shot was only around 55 yards. Their brain offers a small target and makes for a challenging shot when they are swimming slowly. Not overly challenging but fun nonetheless.

Gator tail chops ? I'm thinking , the Jerk powder seasoning like I've used on shark and a hot grill should do it.

Are gator legs eatable? Like frog legs on steroids? What about the body after skinning and gutting? I have seen videos about cleaning fish where they say don't forget to fillet the cheeks. Gator should have big cheeks. So, "inquiring minds want to know!" Canya? ?

Thanks for the info. I have a pretty good working knowledge of gators,, and their brain size & all. Plus,, they are good eating. Yes, you can eat the leg meat,, but I don't recall anyone working on cheek muscle meat. And gator meat is VERY, VERY good, especially if you enjoy frog legs. Similar texture, and a very white meat when cooked.

I'd be interested in trying it not so heavily seasoned... you can get lil chunks at the local fair, deep fried, but it's so heavily seasoned, you can't taste the gator...
