Serial number makes it a Hamden gum. Made in 1968. Box serial numbered to the gun. Any HS collectors out there? Send me a PM

I happen to have about 10 or so of the HS semi-autos. Love them. NICE one there!

My first experience with the high standards was the late 90's. I picked up an unfired supermatic citation (unfluted) and a victor. I've shot both quite a bit, but it had been a while. A month or so ago I got them out of one of the safes in the garage and both had light rust on them. I was and still am sick. Total HUA on my part. Those guns are fantastic shooters.

I have a later build Victor I got from my grandfather. I swapped out his wrong handed grips for some properly-handed Nill grips. He had two magazines for it- one wouldn't feed properly, the other wouldn't hold the slide open after the last round. Not a fun gun to cock after dry firing! New (Triple K?) mag fixed that right up. I tore it completely down, replaced all the springs with new Wolf, gave it a good cleaning, and reassembled. For kicks I took my first shot after reassembly at 40 yards and it was still dead on. I would love to find a good smith for it as the trigger, while fine, isn't what one expects from a gun of this type and I'm not up for trying my hand at adjusting it. Overall a great gun that keeps me from going out and buying a Hammerli

The first semi auto pistol I ever shot was my Dad's Trophy, which kind of ruined me in regards to everything else.

I shot HS’s in NRA bullseye for years until I moved up to the Walther GSP.

taterjudge,
The trigger adjustment screw is looking right at you in the first pic. Have you tried it?

taterjudge, The trigger adjustment screw is looking right at you in the first pic. Have you tried it? Well I have now The trigger pull stays at 3 lbs across all adjustment, but the creep lessens as the screw is withdrawn. A definite improvement with creep removed. Closer to 2 lbs would be nice, but if you can't shoot a crisp 3lb trigger then the trigger isn't the problem!

Some models were originally for shorts.(Olympic Model?) Otherwise, H.S. sold conversion kits for L.R. guns. They included the entire top end & magazines.

Blazenet, I see yours is a later gun with the screw takedown. If you are looking for a LR conversion you would need the same setup. I had a conversion for my victor for shorts. It was like most 22 autos finicky on which ammo would cycle it. I shot it in Int. Rapid-fire, and a few matches of NRA short course. Good luck with ammo. John Roberts

Tell me where you're going to be buried...... One of my sons has 7 of them. Joe Benner favored the Hi Standard Trophy & set several world records using them.
