I’ve been looking for one of these 1st generation Glocks for a while and finally located one.

CDNN used to have a boat load of them. A lot of agencies are rotating out their first and second gen semi's.
I still remember back in the 80's when a sniper buddy of mine showed up at SWAT training with his new plastic gun. I thought those wont be around long. 20+ years later and they are the predominate LE weapon in the US.

I know absolutely nothing about Glocks, so I gotta ask - Is there anything special about the 1st generation or is this something you just wanted?
Again, my question is only because of my total ignorance of Glocks and I might just learn something here!

Gary, Back then if you didn’t carry a Smith or Beretta you weren’t cutting edge. Now the Glocks are so common.
Hutchman, The first generation Glocks are called pebble grain frames since they are not checkered. They were made from the start till about 1989 when the checkered frames came out.

Nice find serialsolver, just out of curiosity what did it set you back. These 1 st gen's seem to be getting out there a bit if you can find one.

Greygt, It was 500 at Cabelas in Ft. Worth. That’s about what they are listed for on the auction sites. I jumped on this one because of condition and there was no shipping or transfer fee.

Pretty cool to have the G17 that started it all!

Always a good feeling to get "that" gun you searched for for so long. Got one of mine recently and the other is on order. I can certainly understand.

Salvo, I maybe way off base but I think one day the first gen. Glocks will be sought after by collectors. Kind of like a 1911 vs. a 1911a1. I was interested because like them or hate them they sure changed things.
Blkhawk73, Checking a grail gun off list is fun.

I agree, that particular pistol changed the course of semi auto handguns more than any other! Took me a long time to warm up to them but now I carry a G27 - 40S&W every day and have a G17-9mm and a G20-10mm. I must admit I even had a few more, but these three are staying.

If I’m not carrying one of my revolvers, I carry a 27. I also have had various Glocks but will keep the 27, old 17, 21 and 30sf. The 30sf will probably be my primary gun when I retire.

The other upside to the 1st and 2nd Gen Glocks is the lack of those horrible finger grooves. They just don't fit my hand. I would love a Model 29 but would just have to send it off to Robar or someone similar to have them removed.

Groo here I have an original 2 pin also. It seems smaller in the grip than the new ones.. Myglockdoc said that the originals were not as tight and did not shoot as tight but would run on anything . Does yours have the Austrian proof marks? If so it is very early. PS put the mag away and get new ones,2 of my originals split up the back also replace the spring guide with a metal one as they only last about 2k rds before some let go.[I have carried it for 18+ years as a" Five Pointed Star "and shot Ipsc with it ,still going .
