We have seen the trigger return spring hook come off the crucifix on our range G42 and G43. Doesn't happen often but it has happened multiple times. I have also seen it in two G43s that belonged to individuals. FWIW the same method of attaching the trigger return spring in the G42/G43 platform is utilized in the new Gen 5 Glock.

That’s interesting. I’ll have to tear them apart to see the difference. Thanks bud!

Thanks for the heads up! Been pondering a 43, think I will wait a bit, until this hash is settled.

I haven't had any issue... yet. But now I'm gonna keep my eyes open on my G43s. I appreciate the heads-up.

There's a half dozen or so 43s being used by guys I shoot with. Zero issues here.

My personal G43 has never done it but I have personally seen it in 5 different G42/43s. Last one belonged to a retired MP and civilian Cop buddy. He just boxed it up to move it on. When I saw it in Gen 5 guns I ran a red flag up everywhere I could.

Cant say the gen 4's were an improvement. Had (and the key word us HAD) three of them. All three were junk. Went back to a gen 3..... and now Im out of glocks entirely and back with the good ole 1911 😉

I still prefer the Gen 3 in all other models though. When I bought my 19 I insisted on a Gen 3.

A model 20, model 40 and model 41..... the midel 40 dropped mags constantly.... brand new mags. The 41 was just off.... sloppy frame to slide fit but in places was so tight it catching. The model 20 was just a pc of junk..... would not shoot well with a plethora of different ammo nor a aftermarket barrel. And the jacked up switcheroo gripframes..... ugghhhh!!!!

I really appreciate you sharing. I haven't had trouble with mine, and I do know that the first Gen 4s had some problems that had to get worked out. Not saying that was your case as I don't know when you bought yours. I just know that, despite what Glock Fanboys say, they have not had an unblemished production run. I have had mags dropping from my G21 Gen 4 when I first started shooting .45 Super. It was a problem of the slide coming back much faster and slamming the round into the front of the magazine, hanging up, pushing the magazine out of the gun, and slamming home with no round in the chamber. I did 3 things to resolve this. First was to add higher power mag springs, second was to use the magazine shims they sell at .460rowland.com, and the third was to adjust my reloads. Turns out the biggest cause was me. My overall cartridge length was too long and creating jams. Having said all that, if the gun was spitting out magazines on factory .45 ACP ammo, like you, I'd have sold that thing and never touched another Gen 4 either. I still want Gen 3s for everything else.

Glock says there is not a standard fix for the problem. They asked how many guns we have seen do the trick. I reported 6. Maybe they will send parts...
