Spotted one on consignment this afternoon for $375 but I have little to no Rossi experience. Interarms import stamp, seemed to be in pretty good condition overall and but top edges could use some cleanup file work due to minor dings (but my NIB .327 SP101 has the same issue so that’s obviously not a deal breaker ). No endshake that I can discern and lock up seemed OK but not as solid as other DA revolvers I’ve handled. Again, no Rossi experience so that may be normal. Thoughts and opinions appreciated, thanks!

Had one and foolishly let a friend have it. Never had much use for Rossi guns, but that one was the exception.
There will always be some elitist to sound off, but I recommend buying it and smiling all the way home.

I had one back in the early 90’s and wish I never sold it. Great gun.

They made two versions of it, both with 3 inch barrels. There is a conventional double action with adjustable sights, some fluted cylinders some unfluted. The other version is a fixed sight DA only, I currently have one of the latter. It is a dandy, very smooth action, locks up tight. I wish I could find two or three more. For under $400 I’d grab it quick. The grips are perfect for my hands too.

Thanks, glad to hear the good reports. I was seriously thinking about either a 3 3/4” or 4 5/8” .357 or .45 single action as my next purchase but I think I’ll swing back by that shop for another look at the 720. It might make a nice companion to the 4” 29.
Warhawk, this one has adjustable sights and I think the cylinder is fluted but I don’t recall what stocks it’s wearing. Probably some kind of Goodyears.

I have both types and would buy another if it came along.

Look at the picture above. Five shot cylinder with bolt notches between cylinders.... no thin chamber walls. Forcing cone a little thicker than the GP100 it seems. Good medium load gun.

It’s a fairly lightweight gun, I typically put nothing stronger than Skeeter loads thru mine. If I’m carrying it as a CHL (occasionally) its loaded with CCI Blazer with the 200 gr hollow point.

The new Handloader I picked up last night has a 44 Special +P load article by Brian Pearce. He breaks down pretty much all makes and models into strength and pressure categories. I made it home and in the article he states the Rossi is held to the same pressure as Charter Arms, factory level only.

I have wanted one for many years. And not a bad price. Add it to my Charters Rugers and Smiths that I have in .44 special.

I happened to be back in that shop today and it was still there on consignment so I made an offer. Just waiting for them to make contact with it's owner for a yea or nay.
