My goodness Axe....It's not just the Single Actions with the wheelie middles that you collect!!! I was beginning to think I wasn't going to see a "wedge" on one of those!!! Hope you don't mind if I add my one and only 1911... ...Springfield Armory Operator, CCA Melonite Finish and EB "Wedge" Mainspring Housing.

I have two Colt's that are pretty special to me. I should shoot them more though. The Series 70 GM was a wedding gift from my wife 25 years ago. Can't beat those West Texas women! And the Officers Model was my first 1911 custom that I did myself, from the hand cut checkering to milling the slide for the Novaks. I think I did every thing I could think of to this Colt without going overboard. It is one of those guns that fit like a glove and shoots were you think.

Well I broke down and took a couple pics of my 1911s, always meant to do it just never got to it. The Colt Commander lives in the truck, it works 100% of the time and really handles well at combat ranges... The Les Baer Super Tac II is my baby, probably would be the last gun to go if push came to shove. It shoots 2" groups at 50 yards with good ammo and lives on my right hip every day, it has been years since it was left unloaded and has even killed a few hogs! I think I have about 12,000 rounds through it and it is still tighter than 99% or the new 1911 on the market.

Nothing special, but you don't see too many AMT 1911's.

Axe, you are the man. Very nice set of 1911s. Here are two of my kids: The top started out as a stock Springfield 1911 A1. It is stock no longer......it has had the trigger done, the ramp polished, the ejection port lowered, beaver tailed grip safety, and a beveled mag well. It is a tack driver. The second is a P13 Para Ordinance. It also is not stock......it has a trigger job, beaver tale grip safety, and a couple of other things I don't remember. My ex neighbor was one of the American Handgunner original Top 100 Pistol Smiths in the US. He cost me a lot of money!
