Aggie 01, Don't listen to these guys. I've liked the idea for years, but haven't done it. I've leaned toward a matte finish stainless, not bright. Not sure that the blued appointments light my fire.

Brushed is probably the way I'll go, and I think I like leaving the hammer stainless too.
I won't tell the gunsmith's name yet, that way you guys don't rake him over the coals, but he said it was "interesting" - good or bad reaction? I don't know.
It'll be a .41 mag. Mostly cause I have the stainless barrel and cylinder out of my bisley looking for a home.

Aggie01, Cant wait to see the final project I'm sure it will look way better than the images we've been playing with. Hey gunsmith's have got to make a living to as long as it's not dangerous and your paying they should do it.

In my mind's eye, its way more subtle than these hacked up pics we are playing with.
We will be going with a "not Turnbull" CCH, whose CCH is cheaper and results are more subdued colors.
I'm thinking stabilized spalted wood grips on this one.

While I don't like the posted mock-up pictures, the proposed tool sounds interesting. We've seen MANY MANY examples of extremely tasteless and gaudy guns (usually for sale on an auction site) ruined by someone with no eye for aesthetics. This should be miles away from most of the really bad examples we've seen. Anxiously wait pictures of the finished product.
