It was hot but the heat didn't dampen our enthusiasm. No snakes or skeeters and so far, no chiggers either. Got some shopping done along the way too....

Gosh Zane, if I knew you were only 30 mikes from Fredricksburg I would have stopped by last spring when I was staying there!

I shot mine with 300gr aframes at 1950 fps. Put down quickly. Still got perfect performance from them. Passed all the way to the offside hide. Did some good penetration testing and the flatnose lehigh 300gr solid copper passied through the skull and part of spine and went off into the dirt. The cutting edge solid 300gr and went thru off into the field behind rapidly. Plenty of penetration to spare!

No but I intentionally went through Fredericksburg on my way to Hondo. Also took me around the traffic nightmare that is from Austin through San Antonio.

Craig, you chose wisely!!! I work in Austin and live in San Antonio,......plus it's a much prettier drive.
That mess you describe pretty much runs from SA to Waco, I hate making that drive on IH35.
