I decided to order a dedicated powder tumbler, as it looks like the recycle plastics have changed, & a couple quick looks through the recycle bin hasn't turned up any #4 containers that would work for the "shake & bake" method... I'm thinking a Berry's tumbler which is newer, & has an easy change bowl design, & extra bowls... anyone have one of these??? ( no reviews on Midway yet ) also ordered several bags of Air Soft pellets, since they are cheap... if they help with building static in the tumbler, & perhaps keep the bullets from bouncing into each other & knocking off the powder... only thing I don't like about that idea, as far as doing "batches" is the strainer will keep the air soft pellets with the bullets, as they are 6mm buddy doesn't like that we are not sizing the 476 WTH bullets from the mold, as alloy & temp are critical to getting just the right size... so he is looking at another collet die to size the bullet & heel, in the same process... now that his gun is also done... he cold blued his barrel & the hole doesn't look near as big as mine does in the white... I got my 1st 100 Starline 45 Colt cases this week, as well as a Redding file trim die to get the cases length all exact... so I'm about ready to start loading up 50 to 100 cartridges for a range session

Have my 1st two batches of 475 WTH bullets powder costed and in the oven right now... satin black, and gloss wagon red... The new Berrys tumbler with changeable bowls worked slick for changing colors... it's raining right now, but I put a half package of air soft bball in each shaker bowl, and seemed to get good static cling on the bullets... 20 minutes I'll know if my 1st batches turned out

Candy... looks like black & red licorice... my 1st attempt at powder coating... did these during the rain, in my garage... looks like I got enough static to stick the powder to the bullets... seeing a couple voids from the needle nosed pliers I used to set them on the trays these are my 476 WTH heel seated bullets... will try loading them up this week

had an extra hour last night ( been really busy lately ) so I ran my powder coated bullets through a Lee push through .476 sizer, ( used some spray case lube on the powder coated bullets for sizing, & wiped them down good afterwards, before loading ) just to make sure everything would chamber well... checked the length of my factory new Starline 45 Colt cases, & those are all good... so I looked at what I had handy, & decided to do red bullets hotter, so a load of 22 grains of H-110 was chosen... & the black bullets more mild mannered, so 5 grains of Trailboss was chosen... so I unpacked & sized 12 of the PC bullets ( 6 Red, & 6 Black ) set up the die, & belled the cases, hand scaled the H-110 powder charges, since I was only doing 6 to start with, Charged those cases, & set up the seating die, to seat for a snug fit at the top of the heal, & then set up the collet crimp die, to give a nice crimp... BTW... with powder all of these bullets range from 288.7 to 289.0 grains a couple pictures to follow... I have qualified for an out of town poker tournament for Saturday, so I may not have the time for a range session with this gun this weekend... but hopefully can find time to get the Trailboss loads done & maybe next weekend??? sorry about the messy condition of my loading bench... as mentioned, been really busy lately... Also sorry for the lazy, laying down on the job pictures... 1st is belling die, 2nd is seating die, 3rd is collet crimping die...

My buddy called & wanted to do some shooting yesterday... a challenge... his new GP-100 Match champion, against my 25 year old stainless 4" GP-100... the old GP-100 won out... comments between us... the Rubber Pachmeier grips & the full underlug barrel, & the well worn in trigger were the deciding factors... but I took the opportunity to shoot a cylinder full plus a couple through the 476 WTH... this is the 1st 2 shots out of the gun... these were the couple my buddy loaded, with his cast bullets & conventional lubing, & Unique powder ( I think 9 grains )... ( I have to say, my powdercoated bullets were a disapointment ) thinking I'll need to order my mold a couple .001's smaller all around... even though I pushed the coated bullets through my Lee push through sizer, sprayed with case lube, & then wiped them down good, the heels were slightly too large, & I had to run the loaded rounds into the sizer to squeeze the case mouth filled with the heels ( about 1/8" down ) to get the rounds to chamber... also assuming something from the case lube fouled my powder, even though I wiped the bullets down good, as the 2 I loaded that day fired fine, which I used a little Alox & wiped the bullets down good afterwards... the other 4 loaded the other day, that I used the spray lube on the bullets, none of the powder burned well... don't know if it was the alcohol finishing evaporating in the spray lube or what??? ( I didn't give much time between sizing them, & stuffing them in the cases after the wipe down ) anyway... here is the 1st 2 shots through the gun, free hand, standing, at 10 yards... with conventional cast & lubed bullets... ( sorry again about the lazy laying down on the job pictures... I must need to change a camera setting on my cell phone, as I rotate them, when cropped, but the new image hosting site, keeps turning them back )
