+1 on the I mean business,,, I am not crazy about SS Pistols but do have some, and I would have liked this one I believe. I have been thinking about a FA w/Octagon for sometime.

Axehandle posted pics of this one a couple years ago. He has since sold it I think on the Ruger forum. Too bad I wasn't in position to get this one. Another Gallagher Octagon 500L. It looks a little stubby with the 5" barrel. But I think this one works even tho it's not a flat top! The stainless Octagon and non-fluted cylinder scream "I'm a custom but I'm all business!" I must add. The integrated DX front sight base is a sweet setup. It takes about 2 seconds to swap out a front sight and no tools needed. How could you sell that thing? That is a fine piece of custom revolver smithing.

After viewing these fine revolvers, I am now too a octagon guy. How could anyone not yearn for one of these?

I'm an octagon fan, I've got two SAs with them and one rifle. If the aesthetics are right they can look really good. That said, I opted for a round barrel on my only custom and love the way it looks. Would probably choose an ovate barrel over an octagon for the next one.

With some luck and patience I'll have a 4" octagon 500L to post here in a few months. JRH is building it for me now,........to me octagon says custom gun, barrel band says custom gun, a S&W ribbed barrel says custom gun even at a glance or from a distance. A Round barrel may or may not be, I've never really cared for the barrel band look on a revolver, although I really like it on a rifle.
The integrated ramp is also an extra touch of custom I like, my Gallagher 500Max has all of these features much like Snyds and arokcrwlrs.

There's that other one! Nice nice! Yep, Axe's gun was the inspiration for my Gallagher 500

I like the octagon barrels, barrels with barrel bands, and even the ovate barrels. Heck, I like S&W barrels on a Ruger. but as stated above, the lines have to flow.

Those integral front sight bases on the octagon barrels are the bee's knees! I'm having my first octagon barrel fitted with Aggies front sight base slapped on! Gonna be a beaut!!!
