Excellent! Beautiful implementation of a forum member's personal tastes... Alan's work speaks for itself but somebody did take a fine set of pictures.... Think we could arrange some photography training for Kings6? Can't wait for that range report! ;D

Thanks guys. Axe I appreciate the guidance you gave me with how to post pics.
A little more about what Alan did... Trigger job Chamfered the cylinder Bowen rear Got rid of the end shake Belt Mtn base pin New front sight
He is currently working on a 327 Fed. Mag conversion utilizing a Blackhawk 357 mag that had also seen its better days. I'm really looking forward to seeing that project finalized.

How did he fit the grips? You send a tracing of your hand?

HeavyC,
very classy gun. the chamfered cylinder is a real nice touch. Alan does do great work. I also think the straight taper barrel "balances" the gun out better. It just looks right.
congratulations, c.r.

Just beautiful. He sets the bar high, doesn't he?
I am curious too about the grip frame alteration... exactly what did he do?

How did he fit the grips? You send a tracing of your hand? Pete When I took the pistols to him and we discussed the projects he mention altering the grip frame. I complained about the flare of standard grips and just the fit of the grip frame in my hand. When we touched base later on he asked if I wanted him to make the change to the frame. I told him to go for it. He basically rounded off the two corners at the bottom of the frame and then fit the grips to the new shape of the frame. If you'll notice the picture that shows the bottom of the grip the grip panels are flat all the way down. It fits my hand very nicely...almost as if he had traced an outline of my hand. The man is talented beyond words. I appreciate all the nice comments. It means a lot coming from this bunch. I've been lurking around for some time now and have sat in awe at the beautiful pieces shown here. The fact that you guys know exactly what went into it and can appreciate it means a lot.

.... If you'll notice the picture that shows the bottom of the grip the grip panels are flat all the way down.... Hmmmm... I can't say I have ever felt a sixgun grip with flat sides. Even the Ruger Bisley rounds out after about the top 1/3. I might have to wander over there and do a test fit. ;D

I love those grips, I guess I have a soft spot for maple. That front sight is the bomb also. Excellent and purtyful too! And not a single toe in any of those pictures. ;D ;D ;D

Well Markbo I had not either, but they feel good. I don't know if that is what is considered a gunfighter grip. I had read a description of gunfighter grips and it stated that they don't flare out at the bottom. Dunno Bowenbuilt thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty partial to that gold bead front sight. It's extra nice on dark backgrounds. Do you guys ever get together for some shooting with other members from here?
