Looks like it's down to the XDs or a G36. The SA has all of the goodies it came with (extra gear package or some such) but I'll need to upgrade the sights. That spring and sear kit looks interesting as well. The 36 has an XS big dot already installed but I'm not sure anything else comes with it.
I'll be heading to the shop shortly and I think I'm going to go into full on haggling mode. $50 difference between them so it may come down to the best price now...

You will have a hell of a time changing sights on that Springfield. I don't know how Springfield puts those sights on but mere mortals with normal sight pushers are s.o.l. Local guys have taken to using a dremel tool to cut the factory sights out. Were it me I'd take the G36 and run. Especially with only a $50.00 difference.

Carrying the G36 will be almost exactly like carrying the G19.
I really want a G43, but I have no use for it. (sorta like the XDs and the G36 lmao) I also want a 26 for some reason. For whatever reason I really like shooting the little carry guns.

Did the deal yesterday and headed straight to the range from the store with this: XDs45They were more willing to deal on the XDs and came closer to my OTD offer for it than they did my offer for the G36. The difference between the two ended up being over $75 and I didn't want to dig that much deeper into the fun fund. There's a definite "getting to know you" period with these things but my gosh what a handful of fun! I was all over the target (and cardboard backer) at offhand 15 yards with the first few mags. When I replaced the regular back strap with the small one it was a vast improvement. The small insert and the extended mag seem to be the best fit for me.

Good choice! Your picture shows the larger magazine extension in place with the smaller backstrap. Each mag extension comes in two sizes. You should find a smaller one in your case that will eliminate match the profile of the smaller backstrap.
Also, don't forget to take advantage of the current Springfield Armory promotion. You will get four more magazines and some plastic bits (holster, double mag carrier) for free.
Best,
Hugh

The smaller one is in the box so I'll get it swapped eventually, thanks! Technically it was used but I entered the info for the promotion. It wasn't automatically rejected out to half court and there weren't any big red warning alarms on the website so we'll see. It's an S3299 sn range, anyone have a year guesstimate for it? cas, how much do the springs alone help vs the springs and sear?

The springs helped quite a bit. As for the sear, I can't say yet.
