Pretty unlikely that JL would convert a revolver and put Bowen's name on it.

The gun is clearly built by Bowen Custom Arms in 500 Maximum caliber.

The gun is clearly built by Bowen Custom Arms in 500 Maximum caliber. It's a .500 Linebaugh. The Maximum won't fit in that platform. I had an SRH in .500 Linebaugh and it was a great combination.

I don't think this is the case with this gun but I had a Clements gun that was marked 500 magnum and it was a shortened .500 S&W. Basically a .500 JRH.

I edited my post....wasn't trying to take credit from anyone...... That wasn't my motive either, just putting that out there! Recall that Hamilton Bowen marked his revolvers.475 and .500 Magnum for quite some time.

Interesting, Mr. Clements just sent me a note asking how I wanted my 1.4" 500 S&W marked. I thought .500 JRH made the most sense now that it's a factory offering.
I wonder, how many different markings have builders used over the years?

500 Linebaugh is the original "500 Magnum" Seyfreid's August 1986 article ".500 MAGNUM: “OUTER LIMITS” OF HANDGUN POWER" was an "intro" to the 500L Here's my Gallagher built "500 Magnum"
