Picked this beast up as a "divorce gift" when I threw my ex out. Brutally fast & would instantly feed you the handlebars if you weren't really smooth with the right hand in 1st or 2nd gear. Grabbin' 4th at 10K was like making the leap to hyperspace. FUN bike, but my inner child is a juvenile delinquent & I had to get rid of it before it killed me or got me arrested.

Medicdaves 14R is the bike I would most like to try and not kill myself on! Somethings a guy just doesn't grow out of! This is the truth of that 14r. I've been around sport bike since I was in my teens and had been on a friends Hayabusa before. Being in the Philippines buying the bike there was no test drive before buying. I unpacked it from the shipping crate added fluid els and the battery and drove it away from the dealer headed to the highway. Never got it over 5k rpm and thought to myself what a big comfy pussy cat she was. Payed my toll to get on the expressway and rolled on the throttle and promptly found myself with the nose in the air and sliding back to the pillion seat. Got it back under control and showed her alot more respect from then on. Rode it stock for about 3 months getting a feel of what it would do before I started tweaking it up. Ended up mid 250's on hp with pump gas, low 9's in the quarter that i could control, and a top end around 230mph. Famine was truly the most awesome vehicle I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing, but like riding a spirited horse you could never truly relax or let your guard down because it could throw you off its back with a seconds inattention. You always had the thought in the back of your mind this thing is going to hurt or kill me one day. When my son was born I couldn't justify having something like that anymore. That said I truly miss that bike and what it could do. Smoking super cars, other bikes, and low flying aircraft sure was fun.

That is the one CrazyCarl except mine was red and from about 2003. 40 mph to 60 mph was so quick you didn't even know you how you got there and you are right, intersections with stop signs taught you real quick to take it easy on the shift.

No pics but have a 2005 KLR 650 bought new, wore out and rebuilt to a 685cc. Bought a 2012 Suzuki DR650, rode for two years and it was stolen. Replaced it with a 2016 DR650 early last year. The DR650 is a great dual sport and saves me a lot of walking in the field. I really can't do my job without one.

My last was also a KLR 650... when younger I had several of the Kawi & Suzi 2 stroke triples... from those I graduated to a V-4 750 Sabre... then went several years without, then bought & rode the KLR listed above for several years... however that's the bike I had my worst wreck on, & I was starting to get older & not healing as well ( or been as lucky ) as when I was younger... They told me in the ER, that they were likely going to amputate my right foot... they changed their mind, when I stood up on it, & started walking out of the ER ) flipping the bike was totally my fault... but decided I better stick to 4 wheels & something with a crumple zone after that My 2016 SS Sedan with a 6 speed manual, track mode & launch control is fun enough to drive that I don't feel I'm giving up too much... was looking at one of the Harley sportsters like the captain america version ( forget the model ) but as much as I love the look of the bike... I just couldn't pull the trigger ( excuses I know... but too many deer around here )... ended up buying the SS instead

I drooled over the Kawi 14 when it came out, but already knew I was in over my head with the ZRX.
40-60mph in an eye-blink was never my issue. My issue was grabbing 3rd at 110mph in a 45 zone or passing trucks on the Autobahn at 85-90 in 3rd gear, on one wheel. Or blowing the tire off in 4th, cranked over in a curve.
After 10 years on jump status, I was over my fascination with scaring myself.

Naw. I wish, tho. No way I could've afforded one of the Z1000Rs as a teenager in the '80's, but as a newly single 35y/o Sergeant First Class, danged if I couldn't swing that beast of a ZRX.

I have two of them at the moment. A 2011 Electra Glide, ex ISP bike. And a 07 Buell XB9 City X. I sold my Sportster in 2014 to buy the Electra Glide. After riding it for a few years I wanted something sportier again so this is what I ended up with. I Met Erik Buell at a meet and greet and after talking to him it got me thinking about the Buells again.

Only bike I have now, 1969 Rokon Trailbreaker, goes about anywhere I need to. I was mostly a dual sport rider all my life but lately didn't enjoy them on the road, sold them and now it's offroad only for me.

I used to ride. Seldom had the combination of perfect weather and time. Had a few close calls. Engine went out. Got married. Had a child. Still miss riding sometimes. Maybe someday.

Now that's a MOTORCYCLE! Good looking muscle bike. I owned a Yamaha FJ1200 for a while. Fun bike!

You shoulda seen the video taken by the plainclothes motor Polizei on a BMW R1100 after following me several miles through the Black Forest. Even had a laser/VASCAR speed readout on the video...
