It doesn't even have a drag line on it.
Whoever had it built didn't shoot it.
I wish I knew more about the grips.
The eagles were crooked (turned 45 degrees) when I got it...weird....

Old model gun should not have a drag line if the owner knows how to handle it. New model that is a different story but if you cycle the old model like a Colt, there shouldn't be a line.

The line often happens when a person loads the gun. Hammer to half cock, load the cylinder then instead of bringing the hammer back to full cock THEN squeezing the trigger and while carefully lowering the hammer is how to avoid the ring. It is when the person squeezes the trigger and lowering the hammer from half cock is where the ring comes from.

A transfer bar safety converted old model leaves the drag mark just like a new model.

After bolting on a few things laying around I think it will be a keeper.... I need to send the hammer to Turnbull for case coloring but some day before too long it will be as I would have had it built... I hope the front sight is tall enough for the new rear.....

You're right on the money with this one. I am more drawn to the old school conversions and customs than any others and this one is perfect to me.

Honestly, I've never tried to just drop one of David's hammers in but I'll be...... And....I really can't tell any difference in how the trigger feels! I'm amazed.... Anybody know what it costs to have a hammer case colored by Turnbull?

From what Ben Forkin said the biggest pain is the set up costs which is why he batches parts. He is going to send in a hammer just like yours and some Marlin parts for me so give Ben a call and ask if you can tag that hammer on the order if it has not gone in yet. He can just bill me for the second hammer and we can square up later.
