Lots of good feelings about the Nelson conversion here too.. Makes for a true match grade 22 on your 1911 frame. I purchased GSG magazines for mine, not because I had problems with the mgazines that come with the Nelson but simply because KC Crawford recommends them.

All Greek to this revolver guy but the idea of top shelf parts makes sense no matter the platform.

Thread drift alert! Axe, are your pocket pool .45s wadcutter guns or SWC? I'm trying to get me head around a 1911 feeding a full wadcutter. I'm picturing it as kind of like feeding an empty case.

Pocket pool wadcutter guns are in fact semi wadcutter guns. The actual wadcutter pocket pool guns are 32s AND 38s...

There are nice hammer/sear/disconnector sets out there. I've had good experiences with the Cylinder and Slide sets. I like that hammer.

I've recently read some things that referred to .45 wadcutter guns and other references to feeding SWC so I wasn't sure. I take it they'll feed ball as well? This is why I enjoy learning and knowing the correct context and terminology. I knew about the .38s and should have at least suspected the .32s. I've always thought one of the .38 Special S&W 952 (IIRC) would be a nice thing to have.

Generally yes... The original 1911 magazines had straight tapered feed lips to properly feed 230 grain GI ball ammo. The wadcutter magazine have a short section of a straight lips with an abrupt cut to release the stubby SWC round at the appropriate time. It all makes sense when you remember that in the browning controlled round feed principle when the round comes out of the magazine the case rim slides under the extractor hook. When I started pocket pool shooting in the 70s we were issued a hardball gun for the service pistol match and a wadcutter gun for the standard centerfire and 45 matches. The wadcutter magazines generally work in the hardball guns. The hardball magazines absolutely DID NOT work in our wadcutter guns. This evolved to all magazines generally looking like wadcutter magazines.
