Guess that could make a SxS with double triggers a machine gun also.

a SXS with double triggers only fires one barrel per trigger though... a double barrel with a single trigger only fires one barrel at a time

Nothng I would ever buy.....regardless of the controversy. If I want small, Ruger Bearcat or S&W model 63 or 631 with 2" barrel would be small enough for me.

Yes, that is a machine gun right now. He claims in the Gunblast coverage that "We're working on litigation and it'll be on shelves within a couple months." So, the maker thinks he's got it sorted out.

It was ruled at some point(urban legend) that if one were to cram a spent shot shell between the two triggers of a double gun, making the front trigger fire both, that shell is the machine gun mechanism and must be registered with the ATF.

Creator claims repeatedly that it's the most reliable defense gun imaginable. I wonder what the firing mechanism looks like.

I do not own one, or have even shot one, but have thought that the Double-Tap little gun would make a decent BUG or bare minimum piece. This new option, the Pepperbox thingy, I'm gonna need sometime to wrap my mind around. Think I'll stick to the 5-shot 44 spec in my pocket for now.

I think the concept is great. I get what he is saying with the triple 3 thing. That said, I'm not overly sure that .25 ACP will deliver the needed punch to a bad guy. Maybe if there was a .25 ACP magnum or chambered in 5.7 mm
Still, if I found one locally for around $200.00 or so, I might just have to add it to the collection.

Personally I'd be surprised if it makes it to market in it's current form.

On Michael Bane's podcast, Down Range Radio, #504, he indicated that he had seen the ATF letter that the manufacturer had obtained stating it was legal. With the byzantine rules, I get way confused. He also talked about a Mossberg 14" barrelled "shotgun that isn't a shotgun" that too had an ATF letter of legality.
Michael also mentioned the little volley gun should be available in 22 mag too.
It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Several makers are offering not-shotguns. They're called "Firearms". Basically, they're not a "shotgun" cuz 14" barrel and no shoulder-stock, not a pistol because 26" overall and 12 gauge, and it's not rifled, so it's not a rifle.

We have a 1/2 dozen on order. Just showing pics and explaining the legalities and I pre-sold each one today. Except the first one.....it was already spoken for before I placed the order! Just to be clear, I am referring to the non-shotgun: www.mossberg.com/category/series/590-shockwave/

I wouldn't mind a green or black but the toy colored guns I try to stay away from I'd buy one if I had the chance, just to have something else to shoot my 25 ACP handloads out of... I assume the guns are either plastic or aluminum, with very thin steel linings for the barrels, to keep weight down...

I don't understand why they made it in .25 caliber. I don't know anyone that carries a .25 for protection. Even with it firing two at a time, I rather at least have a .38 revolver.
