I like it cause it looks like a pistol you might see in movies or on tv. Did I type that out loud? :- o I like anything new a different in firearms. I might not understand why someone decided to spend a lot of time and money on development but that's none of my business.

Cleaned the range LC9S, M&P Shield, and G43 yesterday. These guns are shot every day all day. Don't think you could take any one of them out in the parking lot and kill it with a stick. IMHO The cleaning process illustrates the strengths of the Glock put it heads and shoulders above the rest. Dang Glock is "Pick the Eye Socket" accurate a 25 feet too...

Interesting. 10 ozs more than the G19 with the same payload though, I don't know. I will definitely have to look into it when they hit the shelves. What is the MSRP? Yeah but your comparing a poly gun to a steel frame gun. A better comparison would be, lighter than a 1911 with twice the capacity, or lighter than a Sig 226 with the same capacity. MSRP is $1,100, but that is likely to come down.

And yet 1911 owners hate all three because its not a classic nor steel, and most people, even striker fire shooters had doubts about all three platforms until they were proven. I like those guns you mention, shot and own or owned all three, I like 1911's too. I really dig innovation and like to see new companies pull of impressive things and bring something to market that lots of people have been asking for for a very long time. I hope it works, if it doesn't then so be it. Why didn't Smith or Springfield try this? Both companies make 1911's and striker fired guns, they have the name to carry it. Still, they weren't willing to go outside the box and bring to market multiple features that many shooters would appreciate, and more still that hadn't considered it. No, it took some new people to invest millions abd time and innovation and testing and I appreciate that dispite the fact that they are new. Now I just want to see how it does. PS. I like Glock and carry a 19, never thought they were ugly as people said...but the H9 is better looking.

Personally find the Glock, SR Ruger, and the S&W M&P to be nasty tools without any soul. Customers like them and shoot them a lot. When the boss says, "Clean my guns," that is what I do.

I bad mouthed Glocks forever until I took a couple classes and shot several thousand rounds with one. They are all I've carried for several years now.

I don't know how many 1911 purists will switch over to a striker fired "abomination" like this but I hope they do well and are well made. New innovation and more guns on the market is a win, win to me.

Might be bad or it might be good but like you said, new is good.

I have a 1911, in 9x23 Winchester... because Glock never made one in that caliber. Glocks may be the ugly, souless, red-headed, stepchild of the personal defense arena, but that 19/23 frame size fits my hand so darn well... and it carries light with a pretty big payload.
1911's and Browning HP's are beautiful and fun to shoot... but I carry Glocks in-town. I used to carry my old G19 when fishing, too, but changed that when I encountered my first black bear up on the Sandy river. Seeing how incredibly fast he moved, I sure was glad he chose to run away instead of charging me. He was across the river from me, but the low waters associated with summer steelhead fishing would not have been much of a barrier at all.
I tried carrying a G21sf set-up for 45 Super with a hardcast 265 WFNGC at about 1000 fps, but it was just too bulky with the ported barrel and all. Now it's the 45 Colt instead.
This new H9 has it's fine points, but it's not something I see coming home with me...

Not because it's pretty but, it fits my hand well, packs easily and is lighter when fully topped off than, the Kimber 1911 I had was empty! She runs like a scalded dog though BigBore44
