Truly amazing. Everything is so well thought out and put together.
I had a BCA 500L made up with the round barrel and fluted cylinder with a CCH frame, gate, hammer, and trigger that was the ultimate for me, but this is next level. Great write up as well.

This gun is simply a stunning piece and I know the pictures dont do it justice. Ivory needs sunlight to show itself properly, actually it also needs about 50 years plus to age, yellow, and check to really show its full potential but that for your grand kids to worry about. The marvelous idea of a "ultimate revolver" is it is different to everyone, there are some details I might have done differently, not better or worse just differently, then there are details I see that I wouldn't have thought of too that were wonderful parts of the finished gun. The most horrid idea I can think of is someone actually achieving the "ultimate revolver" because what else would there be to chase? Now the detail I think it is missing is a photo over a nice whitetail buck or other big game animal taken with the gun, that would really set it off nicely I believe... I hesitated to even call it that, for the reasons stated and because one's idea of "ultimate" may evolve over time. That said, I thought the project was involved enough to warrant an article, instead of just posting pics. So I needed to call it something and I'm not a writer. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) That said, I have plans for a couple other similar projects that could also easily be considered "ultimate", which really makes it sound more like marketing than anything. The original plan was to use it at the JRH Bovine Bash but I didn't get it back in time. There may be some opportunity this season to blood it, or it might have to wait until next year. I just got a couple good overcast days for photography last week so I haven't even shot it yet. Ivory is exceedingly difficult to photograph. With enough resolution, I can usually adjust the exposure in Photoshop but the first pics I took weren't even salvageable.

Ha I wasn't being critical of the word choice, I get it, and you are right, photographing ivory is maddening, I had to get a professional with a light box to do justice to the grips on my #5 and he said there was a fair bit of post photo editing to get that to come out.

I know. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I've thought about doing a light box. Got several ideas for backdrops and such. I can usually get them to turn out right but those just wouldn't cooperate. Might've needed to wait until a little later in the day. ![](http://photos.imageevent.com/newfrontier45/sixgunsiv/large/IMG_6896b.jpg) ![](http://photos.imageevent.com/newfrontier45/sixgunsiv/large/IMG_7535b.jpg)

Craig That's just over the top!!! In a good way ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Amazing looking sixgun for sure. The other accouterment's are also very nicely done and, set it off nicely. It's nice to know it'll actually get used. I like sexy guns as much as anyone of us here BUT, I just don't go down the road of safe queen's. That's just me and not meant towards Anyone else ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Enjoy that new Beauty... BigBore44

Beautiful gun and a great write up. I really like that basepin and front sight. I'd love to see a close up of the checkered hammer. Congrats!

That's just about perfect, if there is such a thing. The only thing lacking is more pictures!! I'd love to see all the details and more of that engraving. Very nice!

realistically one of the nicest looking revolvers I've ever seen... just the "right" amount of extra detail... love the bright blued screws & just the right amount of engraving... I don't own any ivory... so personally I might have gone with rams horn... I like that look, & the grain & color seems like it would go well with your gun's finish ( not that the ivory doesn't ) & the elephant hide & ivory are naturals together... the knife is amazing too...
