kinda my thoughts on the "old" AR's when they mounted the scope on the handles... back before flat tops & removable handles... always been a fan of trying to have the sights aligned as close tom the bore as possible

Sean, you are more than welcome to try it on the new host gun! A proper side by side comparison with your 929. I think the balance and handling feels better with iron sights but I seem to shoot much tighter groups with the red dot I wonder why... magnumwheelman, SASS is a boat load of fun. I was a little sad that I didn't get to attend any of our monthly matches this year. There is however a good chance we'll have decent weather and do an "Old School Match" with some trick shooting and other crazy stuff in November. awp101, no problem! It's one of the more interesting set-ups I've seen so I thought I would share. It's also nice that if you decide the 90 degree set-up isn't for you, the upright mount is still part of the package. contender, you are correct about dot placement. My Dad has one of the upright mini dots on his 2011 and it doesn't point naturally for me. Once you get used to it they are great but it's an adjustment being so high off the bore axis. I did a little accuracy focused practice this morning before work, nothing better than watching sunrise with a revolver in hand: Close range x-ring practice, the dot makes a BIG difference in my split times

Yep,, those dots do decrease most folks times. Too bad it's across the board for everyone.

At our range we have scaled Silhouette targets for 25 (chickens), 50 (pigs), 75 (turkeys), and 100 (rams). I hit a new personal best with this gun recently and cleaned the 100 yard steel. Now I just need to do it with an iron sight big bore!
