As a "retro" original style 1911 made now outside of a custom??

Springfield used to offer a GI model. Colt makes a basic service style gun. I think High Standard turns one out, Thompson still does I think. I know there are a couple others but those come to mind first.

Buy a new '70 Series Colt. It is at least retro to 5 decades ago, except for the slightly taller sights.

Includes 2 two-tone magazinesI wonder if those are original or new 2 tone? I happen to have an original... IMWO, that and the Ma Deuce are JMB two greatest achievemnts. Wait, add the sexy 61 magnum. M2 poster by awp101, on Flickr The real irony to me is how true that is. My Grandfather was born in 1923 and my Grandson can still say the same thing about Ma.

Watch out for the finer points of the Retro 1911. The 1911 and 1911A1 aren't the same. The Turnbull gun captures it well. Short grip safety tang, no scallops cut in the frame behind the trigger, long trigger, flat mainspring housing.......

Who owns the Inland name now? I'm seeing more old names coming back with new owners hoping to capitalize on the old name. High Standard comes to mind and there's even rumors of AutoMag being resurrected, the company AND the pistol.
