I have a friend that's used 444 Marlin on deer for years now. I'll have to check, but I think he loads a 265 grain bullet @ 1,800 fps or so. He swears by the round. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I don't buy the 'too much gun' notion either. Heck it can be downloaded to hot 44 mag levels.

Dang fellahs, I can't believe I even have to clarify this: That experience was using factory ammo. It has not been the case with reloads and cast bullets.

Lee, If you want to try some of the Ranch Dog 300 grain bullets let me know and I will send you some. They work well in my 444.
